Jazz

Jazz Band is a year-long course available to select students in the Wind Symphony who have applied for Jazz Band at the end of the previous school year. The course will focus on the fundamentals of jazz styles, application of musical improvisation, and unified ensemble performance. This ensemble will be asked to perform at many cocurricular performances outside of Coleman Concerts. Students will play trumpet, saxophone, trombone, drum set, piano, electric guitar, or bass guitar. Auditions will be held in May for drum set, bass guitar, electric guitar, and piano. Students who play any other instrument will learn how to play trumpet, trombone, or saxophone!
